Article types and manuscript requirements
Manuscripts must be written in English, submitted in Word-format, and use the Vancouver reference style including a DOI (a modified Vancouver citation style for Endnote can be downloaded here: modified Vancouver style). Authors of accepted manuscripts are required to pay an article processing fee (APC), the amount of which depends on the type of article and can be derived from the table below. An author guideline is provided here: Author Guideline CPR.
Article types:
Original Research Article: This article type communicates original research findings, confirmatory or negative results. Original research articles may be of experimental, translational, or clinical nature. The submission of papers with a strong translational character – in which both experimental and clinical elements are present – is particularly encouraged.
Review Article: Review articles should summarize a particular topic based on the existing literature, but also create a new perspective of relevance to the field. Narrative reviews containing a clear position statement, conclusion, or critique are encouraged, whereas reviews without such elements are discouraged.
Rapid Communication: This article type is reserved for short reports communicating original research, which may contain preliminary data. It may also be used for confirmatory or negative results which do not require the format of a full original research article.
Case Report: This article type is intended for clinical cases with exceptional characteristics not previously – or rarely – reported in the existing literature.
Field Communication: Field communications are intended to communicate important messages to the global community of researchers engaged in prolactin research. This can be a conference announcement or an opinion article. Field communication is a flexible format which can be adapted in agreement with the Editor-in-Chief.
Conference Communication: CPR aims to provide a space for the publication of conference abstracts and reports – not published elsewhere – in which prolactin, growth hormone and/or placental lactogen is addressed.
Letter to the Editor: Letters to the Editor refer to an article published in CPR or another issue which should be discussed in the journal. Authors of addressed articles will be invited to reply.
Special Article: Special articles are commissioned by the Editor-in-Chief and can appear in various formats.
Focus and Scope
CPR publishes articles concerning the hormone prolactin. All submissions relating to the biomedical exploration of prolactin, either directly or indirectly, are welcome. This includes work in which prolactin is the main focus of the investigation, as well as work in which prolactin is addressed together with other hormones or factors. The submission of clinical, translational, and experimental biomedical research is encouraged. Not within the scope of CPR is veterinary research, as well as experimental research with no biomedical or clinical significance.
