Communications in Prolactin Research (CPR) is committed to the integrity and independence of its editorial process. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific quality, validity, and relevance of submitted work, and are made independently of any commercial, financial, or personal interest. Our policies follow the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Ownership and publisher. CPR is published by Yellow Thistle Publishing LTD (registered in England & Wales, Company No. 16187034). The publisher provides the infrastructure and administrative framework for the journal but does not influence editorial decisions on individual manuscripts.

Disclosure of the Editor-in-Chief's interests. In the interest of full transparency, the journal discloses the following relationships of its Editor-in-Chief, Jakob Triebel, MD:

• He is affiliated with Yellow Thistle Publishing LTD, the publisher of this journal.
• He is associated with the Vasoinhibin Reference Laboratory (Nuremberg, Germany).
• He is an inventor and owner on a patent relating to a vasoinhibin-binding monoclonal antibody (PCT/EP2024/073698; WO/2025/098661) and has a research and commercial interest in vasoinhibin antibodies (Vi-Mab).

A detailed standing declaration of the Editor-in-Chief's interests is published separately.

Safeguards. To ensure that these interests do not affect editorial decisions, CPR applies the following measures:

• The Editor-in-Chief recuses himself from the handling and decision-making of any peer-reviewed manuscript in which he is an author, co-author, or has a competing interest. This applies to all peer-reviewed content types. The recusal does not apply to clearly attributed, non-peer-reviewed editorial content (editorials and calls for submissions). Recused manuscripts are assigned to an independent member of the editorial board, who manages peer review and the final decision autonomously.
• Editorial decisions are kept strictly separate from the commercial activities of the publisher and of the Vasoinhibin Reference Laboratory.
• Reviewers are selected for the absence of competing interests with the authors.

Requirements for authors and reviewers. All authors must declare any financial and non-financial competing interests in their manuscript; where none exist, this is stated explicitly. Declared competing interests are published with each article. Reviewers must decline to assess any manuscript for which they have a conflict of interest and must treat all submissions as confidential.

Funding and fees. CPR levies article processing charges (APCs); current rates, by article type, are listed on our Submissions page. The journal does not permit sponsors or advertisers to influence editorial content.

Transition. This policy takes effect from 23 July 2026. Articles published before this date that were handled by the Editor-in-Chief carry an individual editorial-handling disclosure; see the respective article.
